REGULATORY SERVICES CRIMINAL
INVESTIGATION UNIT. IT TURNS OUT THAT THEY’RE NOW
LAUNCHING A PARALLEL
INVESTIGATION INTO THIS
INCIDENT. YOU SEE, THE PESTICIDES THAT
WERE FOUND INSIDE THE TWO YELLOW
LABS, MAX AND ELLIE, WELL,
THEY’RE INCREDIBLY TOXIC. IT CAN ALSO HURT HUMANS. AND NOT EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO
USE IT. IT’S REGULATED. SO DEPUTY DIRECTOR MIKE WEYMAN
TELLS ME HIS TEAM IS WORKING TO
FIND OUT WHO PUT THAT PESTICIDE
NEAR THE UPSTATE CREEK ON LITTLE
NORTH CAROLINA ROAD ALONG THE
LAURENS COUNTY NEWBERRY COUNTY LINE. WEYMAN SAYS USING THE
INSECTICIDE CARBOMATE AND
CARBOFURAN, WITHOUT PROPER
PERMISSION, IS A VIOLATION OF
BOTH STATE AND FEDERAL LAW. LAURENS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
AND THE NEWBERRY COUNTY
SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARE ALSO
INVESTIGATING. THERE IS A $1000 REWARD FOR ANY
